Entrepreneurship Development Systems (EDSs) have developed over the last
five years as strategic responses to the economic development challenges
facing rural America, and seek to build greater recognition and support for
entrepreneurship, leverage new investment, and achieve greater impact
through a more coordinated approach to entrepreneurial transformation.

Goals of the Webinar:

*	To review the concept, components and principles of Entrepreneurship
Development Systems;
*	To share the most important lessons learned in early
Entrepreneurship Development Systems that can be applied to create new
systems; and
*	To share the perspectives of microenterprise practitioners who have
been active in building an EDS, and hear how these efforts benefit and
support their work with microentrepreneurs.

Guests:

*	Mary Matthews, president, the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund, which
created the Greenstone Group, a 10-year initiative that seeks to foster a
culture of entrepreneurship and strengthen entrepreneurs in northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin through group-based learning, peer support
and access to a variety of business services;
*	John Parker, president of Good Work in North Carolina, which was a
member of the North Carolina Rural Outreach Collaborative, an EDS funded by
the Kellogg Foundation, and which continues to work with the North Carolina
Rural Economic Development Center to support regional EDSs throughout the
state.

Format: This Webinar will summarize findings from an evaluation conducted by
FIELD of six Entrepreneurship Development Systems funded by the W.K. Kellogg
Foundation. It will focus on the role that microenterprise development
programs have played in these systems and the benefits that programs - and
their clients - gain from these strategies. It also will show how lessons
learned have been incorporated into systems work that has occurred after the
Kellogg demonstration.
