Dear Friend of Indian Country,

We encourage you to join us on this call about the Senate banking overhaul
bill. Several issues that affect Indian Country are at stake in this bill,
including regulation of predatory lending practices and tribal jurisdiction
over those practices.

Please join the call to hear about how you can make a difference!

National Congress of American Indians

This week, Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), Chairman of the Senate Banking,
Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, unveiled his proposal to overhaul the
banking sector. With millions of families still reeling from the failure of
industry overseers to reign in deceptive lenders and prevent nationwide
foreclosures, now is the time to act. Communities of color have been
particularly hard hit by a perfect storm of foreclosures and unemployment,
with little relief in sight. Policymakers need to understand the
devastating impact of reckless lending on our families and neighborhoods.

Join us―the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), National Council
of La Raza, National Urban League, and the National Coalition of Asian
Pacific American Community Development―for a discussion on how new oversight
and consumer protections can prevent another meltdown in the housing and
credit markets and what you can do to ensure we achieve real reform.

Communities of color demand a financial system that is fair and accessible,
protects consumers, and works to eliminate predatory financial products.
RSVP now to learn how you can help make it a reality.
