NOTE:  THIS IS NOT THE NATIVE INITIATIVES FUNDING ROUND THAT WAS
ANNOUNCED LAST WEEK, BUT THE MAIN CDFI FUND PROGRAM FUNDING.   THIS MAY
BE INTERESTING AND HELPFUL IN ANY CASE AND NATIVE GROUPS CAN APPLY TO
THIS PROGRAM, BUT WILL COMPETE WITH THE ENTIRE CDFI INDUSTRY.  THE
NATIVE INITIATIVES FUNDING IS DESIGNED TO BE SPECIFIC FOR ALL OF YOU IN
NATIVE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES WANTING TO CREATE/EXPAND A NATIVE CDFI IN
YOUR COMMUNITY.

$54 Million Available through FY 2009 CDFI Program

Teleconferences and On-Demand Tutorials Available to Assist Potential
Applicants

On August 12, 2008, the CDFI Fund announced

.asp>  that it was making up to $54 million available through its fiscal
year 2009 round of the CDFI Program.

The CDFI Fund is offering the following resources to assist potential
applicants.

Q & A Teleconferences

The CDFI Fund is hosting four, one-hour Question and Answer sessions via
teleconference next week for those interested in applying under the
fiscal year 2009 CDFI Program. Each teleconference is focused on a
different type of Community Development Financial Institution. Program
staff from the CDFI Fund will moderate the teleconferences, discuss
Frequently Asked Questions and answer questions from participants on the
teleconferences.

Schedule of teleconferences by CDFI type:

*	Credit Unions  -  Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern 
*	Banks  -  Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern 
*	Loan Funds and/or Rural Applicants  -  Thursday, October 9, 2008
at 3:00 p.m. Eastern 
*	Community Development Venture Capitalists  -  Thursday, October
9, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern
